The
Golden Triangle of India, made up of Delhi at the apex and Jaipur and Agra at
the western and eastern extremities, lies in the heart of north India. It is a
land-locked region enclosed by the Himalaya mountains in the north, the Great
Indian or Thar desert in the west and the Aravalli hills in the south. To the
east stretch the teeming fertile plains of the River Ganges, endlessly green
